Good morning……or is it really the night before good morning? You will need this time to prep your cereal before eating.
What you need:
Cream of wheat cereal: whole wheat is our favorite.
OR Cream of rice cereal if you do not eat wheat products
loaf pan buttered or sprayed
butter and syrup
Make the cereal according to instruction for four people: add an extra 1/2 cup of cereal. While cereal is still warm scoop into the treated loaf pan. Cool a bit on the counter then place in the refrigerator over night. You can cover it with wrap if you would like, however make sure it is cool so water drops do not form. In the morning heat a skillet, add butter, (watch so it does not burn). While the pan is heating up, before you add the butter, take a knife to the loaf pan going around the edges make sure the cereal is loose. Place a plate on top of the loaf pan and flip it over and out. Slice the cereal into 1 to 1 1/2 inch pieces and place in heated pan. Fry until brown crunchy edges form. Cover with more butter if you so desire and syrup. Fresh fruit is a yummy add-on to this plate of deliciousness.
